Psychotherapy

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a fancy term for talk therapy. Clinicians use different approaches, called modalities, to help you identify and then modify unwanted or unhealthy ways of thinking and/or behaving. Psychotherapy can help in several different areas of your life ranging from anxiety and stress, to relationship difficulties. Talk therapy can also help you manage mental health conditions, sexuality issues and grief.

We aim to meet your unique needs. While our sessions are 55 minutes long, we tailor our approach to accommodate you. Your sessions are confidential and take place in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Sometimes your session will consist of simply talking. Other times, your therapist may encourage you to practice a skill and she might even give you "homework" to try out a new way of thinking or behaving.
Psychotherapy can help improve your emotions and behaviors and can ultimately lead to positive changes in your mind and body. It can help you manage your stress levels, help you gain control of your anger, assist you in communicating better with your partner and other family members, and can provide you with relief when feel like your mind is out of control. The biggest benefit of psychotherapy is the unconditional positive support you receive from your therapist.
